Kad ga vidite pred sobom, 1.0 Ecoboost i nije nešto. Težak svega 97 kilograma, s karterom koji stane na papir A4 formata, djeluje kao igračka. Ali samo na pogled, u što smo se uvjerili na prezentaciji u Barceloni. Fordov turbobenzinac s izravnim ubrizgavanjem, tri cilindra i dva bregasta vratila s neovisnim pomakom u fazi (Ti-VCT), oduševio nas je već nakon desetak kilometara.



Za početak, zvukom. Kad smo pritisnuli tipku za paljenje, downsizing benzinac javio se gotovo nečujno. A to se samo djelomično može opravdati besprijekornom zvučnom izolacijom Focusa, prvog od čak tri modela u koje će se ugrađivati (u početku će se nuditi još u C-Maxu i B-Maxu, a u drugoj fazi vjerojatno i u Fiesti).



Smješten na nosače koji posve umiruju vibracije i uglađenog rada, klasičan trocilindarski zvuk ponudio nam je tek kad smo ozbiljnije nagazili papučicu gasa. Snažnija izvedba sa 125 KS, uparena s preciznim 6-stupanjskim mjenjačem (osnovna izvedba imat će 100 KS i 5-stupanjski mjenjač) ponudila je i uzorite performanse.



Nije baš riječ o sportskom nastupu, no snage za pretjecanje u svakom je trenutku bilo dovoljno (u overboostu, otprilike 10 sekundi, nudi se 200 Nm), dok je maksimalna brzina od 193 km/h bila dovoljna i za teži prekršaj. Otprilike, na cesti se ponašao kao atmosferski 1.6, čak i pomalo uvjerljivije. No, bio je nemjerljivo štedljiviji. Vozeći se po otvorenim dionicama i autocesti, prema putnom računalu trošili smo svega 4,1 litru. Što je rezultat kojem bi se poklonili i kad bi riječ bila o dizelašu, dok ovako zbilja graniči sa znanstvenom fantastikom...

1.0GTDi sa 100ks, od 114.900,00kn.

Isto košta kao 1.6 atmosferac sa 105ks. Neloše.
